Few amendments have taken place very recently in the West Bengal Thika Tenancy (Acquisition and Regulation) Act, 2001 and the West Bengal Land Reforins and Tenancy Tribunal Act, 2005 since the publication of the last edition of this book Consequently, in this edition, I have made sincere efforts to update those laws which have been amended along with comments in appropriate places Again, in this edition, I have incorporated coraments on the Model Tenancy Act, 2021, which was approved by the Cabinet on June 2, 2021, and circulated by the Union Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry to all States and Union Territories on June 7, 2021 for adoption by way of either enacting a fresh legislation or amending existing rental laws suitably.

I have encouraged by a large number of persons and therefore, I owe a deep sense of gratitude to all of them. I sincerely appreciate the co-operation and active support of the publishers and their stuff in bringing out the new edition of this book.
