The Parliament has enacted and passed new Acts in 2023.

The new Acts have been renamed as follows:

The Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 instead of Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973;

The Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 which has been changed from Indian Penal Code; and

The Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023 instead of Indian Evidence Act, 1872.

All up-to-date cases decided by both the Supreme Court and different High Courts have been appended along with Classifica- tion of offences in Schedule-l and Model Forms in Schedule-II respectively.

A comparative chart of new and old Acts has been compiled and included with the present edition which will be of immense help to both the Bench and the Bar.
